I’m a beginning skater / not a competitive figure skater. Is a good fit for me?

Although the Balanced Skaters Platform was originally designed with coaches in mind, we created this platform specifically for teen & adult skaters due to overwhelming interest. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a competitive figure skater: our programs will help you become stronger & more flexible, prevent injuries, and improve your jump/spin technique on the ice. We recommend starting at an easier level then working your way up, and going at your own pace.

If you don’t have the external motivation of a coach or a competition season, make sure you’re willing to commit to training consistently (we love setting calendar reminders). We’re excited to see your results!

Can I share my login info or subscription with anyone else?

No- your subscription only grants access for you to use the site.

I take classes / train with a local trainer. Do I need this program?  

While having an outside trainer can be very beneficial, outside trainers don’t typically have a skating background. Without a deep subject matter knowledge of figure skating, it’s hard to choose techniques that actually complement the skills you’re learning on the ice. Our programs were developed to address the unique demands that ice skating places on your body, apply techniques that translate into better on-ice movement, and improve strength & injury resistance without sacrificing flexibility. We actually encourage local trainers to join the Balanced Skaters Platform for Coaches to use our programs as guidance & reference our exercises when planning their own off-ice training sessions.
